What is a Whole House Assessment?

A whole house assessment helps to determine if you qualify for free home energy efficiency improvements.

Help from the Nest scheme could include:

  • a new central heating boiler
  • insulation 
  • draught proofing for doors and windows
  • renewable energy technologies such as air source heat pumps

Who can get a whole house assessment?

A Nest whole house assessment is available to people in Wales who can answer yes to all of the following:

  • You own or privately rent your home
  • You live in a home that is energy inefficient (homes with an E, F or G efficiency rating)
  • You or someone you live with receives a means tested benefit

You must be in receipt of at least one of the following means tested benefit:

  • Child Tax Credit: money coming in is below £16,105 a year
  • Council Tax Benefit (reductions and discounts do not qualify on their own)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit: money coming in is below £16,105 a year
